Doctura began in San Antonio, Texas during the summer of '96, as a band formed by four high school friends. They started out playing cover songs at local bars, but the drive for musical expression was too strong. Soon, they graduated to playing all original material at San Antonio clubs and have had the pleasure to open for such bands as The Union Underground, American Head Charge, Nevermore, Mercyful Fate and Biohazard.

The original four members have been playing together for more than five years. The band consists of Nat Garza (Vocals, Guitar), Ryan Chadek (Guitar), Phillip Villagran (Bass), and Chris Hillhouse (Drums).Doctura blends an aggressive guitar attack with a booming bass and near virtuostic drums to create their unique style of power-groove metal. In the summer of 2000, Doctura recorded their first CD, Intertwined. The album is a compilation of hard-hitting, balls-to-the-wall heavy metal with no rules.
